“Then He said to them, ‘Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.’” L U K E 2 4 : 4 6 – 4 7 (NKJV)

Our verse today is an affirmation of a few things: that the Scriptures are true, that Christ must suffer, that He must rise on the third day, that all should know that their sins can be forgiven, and that we (His followers and believers) are to bear witness of these things! This is our message, friends! It is simple, yet profound—powerful, yet humble. After Jesus died for us on the cross, He asked us to go preach His name and make disciples of all nations!

As you ponder this verse today, pray about how Jesus would make this come alive in your heart and how you can apply this to your life! Ask boldly, and respond when He tugs on your heart. Our faithfulness to His promptings is what makes our faith grow.
