“Then the other disciple, who came to the tomb first, went in also; and he saw and believed.” JOHN 20:8 (NKJV)
This is just one account of Jesus’ resurrection. This is the turning point in our Christian faith that sets us apart from other religions. Jesus not only died a gruesome and necessary death on the cross, but He also showed that He was the one and only God by rising from the dead on the third day. The disciple mentioned in this verse was one of the many eyewitnesses to this. It is a precious thing that Jesus inspired John to write these words to us. He wanted us to have these firsthand accounts to strengthen and solidify our faith in Him.
Knowing that we are loved by a God who humbled Himself and died for our sins is more meaningful than anything we can ever imagine. The fact that He not only wanted us to know that but even went further to provide proof for us who weren’t able to physically see it happen, is icing on the cake. We serve such a merciful and gracious God, friends! Remember that today!
