“‘Am I only a God nearby,’ declares the Lord, ‘and not a God far away? Who can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them?’ declares the Lord. ‘Do not I fill heaven and earth?’ declares the Lord.” Jeremiah 23:23-24

Hello Sweet Mom!

As I sit down to write about our upcoming study on loving our husbands, one thought on marriage prevails on my heart: when we say, “Yes” to Jesus, we enter into an eternal marriage covenant with Him. He loves so deeply and unconditionally, never stopping to lavish His love on us no matter how ugly, unfaithful, and unloving we are. He never says, “I’m done with you.”

Jesus never ends our relationship, but rather always believes for the best, hopes for good, good things, and patiently endures all things for our sake! He sees a better end and wants everyone to know and experience His love. Once we come to know this love, nothing is impossible! We hold this power of love in our hands—to love the ugly and the unloveable like He does.

My friend, I don’t know what your marriage looks like. What I do know from personal experience is that loving well takes a lot of hard work! Putting time aside to pray, hear, and share our deepest desires takes effort.

How beautiful that in all of this grueling, selfless work, Jesus shows us the way. He shows us how to serve, forgive, and minister from His heart to others. His love makes it possible for us to love our husbands well.

I’m praying for your marriage today, sweet one. Allow yourself to sit and receive the love of Jesus today. Let Him forgive, minister, and serve you as you wait to be filled. May He give you strength to dig deep into the power of His Spirit to continue on.

With Love,
