Word of God Week 2- Mom Tips

Word of God week 2 Mom Tips

“The wise woman builds her house.” Proverbs 14:1

One of the main components of the Help Club for Moms are the Mom Tips, which are practical ideas designed to help you to become all that God created you to be and are meant to enhance your life and role as a Christian woman, wife, mom, and homemaker.

Simply pray about which Mom Tips to do and do only those. One of the mottos of the Help Club for Moms is “You do you!” Go at your own pace. Do what you can, or more. It’s completely up to you! We all are in different stages of our lives.

Keep this list on your fridge all week. Pick one or two things to try and check them off as you do them.

The Wise Woman Builds Her Spirit:

  •  If you are having trouble having a regular quiet time with God, pray and ask God to help you. Print out the weekly plan sheet hereand write in your week’s schedule and times for your Bible study each day. Start with a short 15-minute quiet times. Put this list on your fridge. If you use a smartphone, put your time with God in your calendar on your phone. Ask God to help you to stay focused this week and make time with God a priority.
  • If you don’t have a journal, go and pick out a pretty one that will invite you to write in it. Set aside time to write in it at least 5 minutes each day. You can also use your smartphone to keep your journal electronically.

The Wise Woman Loves Her Husband:

  •  Do you know your husband’s love language? The book, “The 5 Love Languages: The Secret to Love that Lasts,” by Gary Chapman is a fantastic, eye-opening book that will help you to understand how to love your husband (and others) well.  It will change your relationships and you will learn new ways to identify how the people in your life feel loved the most. If you already know your husband and children’s love languages, be intentional with your love for them this week. Love them the way THEY feel loved. Take the time to pray and ask God to show you how to love those He has given you well!

The Wise Woman Loves Her Children:

  • Stay in the habit of saying “Hello” to everyone as soon as you hear them walk in the house for three days this week. Acknowledge your family when they walk into the room. These little things let them know that they matter to you. Let them know that home is the BEST place to be because they are well loved by their family. Teach your children to say hello to one another too! Day 1______ Day 2______ Day 3______

The Wise Woman Cares For Her Home:

  •  On Saturday, take a moment and plan out your menus for next week and your shopping list. Get your shopping done and chop all of your vegetables for the week ahead of time. List your meals here:

  1. I just borrowed a copy of Gary Chapman’s The 5 love languages for children from the library! If I thought loving my husband in his “language” was a challenge- figuring out 5 completely different kiddos certainly is! It’s great that God makes us all unique but for a mamma who wants to “love” her babies well- it’s work! Praying God gives me creative ways to let each of them know they are special and worth the extra effort!

  2. I actually woke up this morning thinking about which areas I wanted to tackle this week, before I even read this! I took that as a sign God was saying something. 🙂 Today I’ve been working on our coat closet. Which is a MASSIVE task. We couldn’t even fully shut the door (thanks to three of my four sons who decided to pile everything in there from the winter……it was literally FULL from the bottom to the top. You know the cartoons that show someone opening a door and everything is packed in? Then it all falls out? Yeah……..that was my morning. lol It’s almost completely cleared out. Two big trash bags full of clothes, shoes, and DVDs to go to the Arc. Almost done! <3 Then there is the pantry closet and clearing the kitchen. <3

    1. Way to go Nancy! I’m so proud of you! My desk is what drives me crazy. I’m going to get it all finished this week! Thanks for encouraging me to work oh my messy desk!?

      1. Deb,

I’ll be praying you on! 🙂 I just finished the second closet I talked about. <3 I may add the storage/school room on my list this week. I've definitely found that a body at rest, tends to stay at rest. A body in motion, stays in motion. 🙂 One of those closets included in 10 (yes 10) pairs of hubby's shoes. I showed him the closet and he said, "Wow! Thank you! What do I owe you for this?" I laughed.

  3. I need to practice active listening this week. With three daughters who love to talk as well as a busy schedule lately, I have been craving silence and relaxation. I need to make time for me so I can be more engaged when I’m with them… I’m going to try to focus on journaling more too. With shorter quiet times, I don’t take the time to journal, but that is when God speaks to me the most.

    1. I agree Heather! It’s so tough to find time to journal! I have to carry it with me in my car so I will take a moment to journal when I get the time. The mornings are when God speaks to me too! I love my time in the morning with God!

      1. I have a 15 year old son who talks more than most girls I know, so I can relate. He will go on and on and on……to add to it, he’s a BOY. So I have to find creative ways of being interested in the things he’s interested in. I grew up being a tomboy, so you’d think that would be easier……but I loved OTHER things than him. Like fishing, football, classic cars (and working on them), and target shooting. He likes soccer. Something I know nothing about. lol
