Day Three: Comparison Steals Our Joy

“We do not dare to compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise.” 2 Corinthians 10:12

Do you struggle with comparing yourself to others?

Perhaps it’s someone’s clothes, athletic ability, or looks.

Comparing ourselves to others leaves us feeling like we aren’t good enough, and it steals our joy.

How do we get our joy back? By changing our thoughts.

When we change our thoughts from what we don’t have to what we have, gratitude takes over. When we focus on what is going well and what God has given us, we begin to experience JOY.

When social media makes you sad as you compare your life to others, put down the phone and remember your blessings. Pick up a good book or call a friend for encouragement. Ask God to show you what He has put inside YOU!

Reflection:

Ask God (and others) what gifts are on the inside of YOU. Then, write them down and find ways to use those gifts.

Love, Kathryn
