Day Three: You Were Called to Be a Mama

As a descendant of Eve, you are called to be a mother. Every woman on the earth was given a certain skillset to mother a child and be a nurturer. Being a woman is a beautiful thing. God made our bodies to be soft and cushy- a comfortable place for a baby to snuggle into. He made our voices soothing and loving- to calm a temper-tantrum and set the tone in our homes. He gave us the means to be able to feed our children with no outside help- we are an all-in-one resource to our babies, simply by being a woman. Our bodies are capable of expanding and growing to reach the capacity to carry a full-grown baby inside. Our body also intuitively knows what to do to birth our babies…being a woman is an incredible gift from God!

Somewhere along your journey so far, you may have wondered if you are cut-out for mothering a child. Maybe you had a rocky upbringing, no good examples of a good mom, or simply just don’t know what to do. That’s okay! The good news is that you don’t have to have it all together to be the mom God created you to be. All you need to do is let God lead you.

“He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.” Isaiah 40:11

As you press into the Lord in this season of pregnancy, seek to trust God. Trust Him that He can grow you into the mother you want to become, and that He will gently lead you. He has called you to this mama, and He will see it through!

“For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 1:6
