The Holy Spirit is With Me All the Time – I am Never Alone

Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. Psalm 139:7-10

“Man was so engineered by God that the presence of the Creator within the creature is indispensable to His humanity.” Major Ian Thomas

  • It’s time to meet with your wise Counselor, the One who cares so very deeply about you and those things that concern you today. Take a minute to think about your worries, what you’ve been trying to do in your own strength, and in a moment of prayer, place them in His capable hands.
  • Read the words of James 1:5 and take a few moments to meditate on it. Write this verse in your journal.

Lately, God has been ministering to me about the Holy Spirit and His constant presence in my life. God is omnipresent, which means He is everywhere all the time. David, who wrote Psalm 139, had an incredible understanding of this concept.

I experienced the practical presence of Jesus several months ago, and it reminded me of God’s faithful immanence. While I was in town running errands, a bad snowstorm developed, making it almost impossible for me to return home. I was about 10 minutes from our home when the cars ahead of me began to slip and slide on the snow and ice as they were trying to get up the hill in front of us. A few cars could no longer advance because of the slippery roads and stopped right in the center, completely stuck. I could feel panic begin to rise within me. The tires on my minivan
were not winterized, and I knew I could easily slip if I tried to pass the stopped cars. Also, what if a car came from the other direction as I passed on the wrong side? About 10 minutes went by as I waited, hoping for the vehicles ahead of me to get free somehow, but they were unable.

As I prayed, watched, and waited, I felt God gently say, “Do not fear. I will help you.” Because I understood God was with me, it made it easier to believe for divine assistance. It was simple. God gave me the courage to slowly speed up, easily pass the cars, and climb all the way to the top without any trouble at all! It may seem like a small miracle, but it was huge for me! The knowledge of Jesus being with me in my car helped me trust Him when the circumstances seemed impossible.

God wants to work miracles in our everyday lives. He is with us all the time. He does not come and go; we do! Although we are not always aware of it and sometimes forget, this is always true.

An awareness of the Presence of God helps us to walk in the Spirit.

When everything is peaceful and going well, we find it easy to feel God: His presence seems real, and life is easy and in control. However, when we’re experiencing difficult times in the daily grind of life, it often feels like He is so far away. However, the truth remains, nothing has changed. He never left us!

Moms, this is true. When your child is being ugly and refuses to obey, God is still there. He feels your disappointment and is crying with you. Ask Him to help you. When you’re overwhelmed because of sickness or health issues, you aren’t alone. Ask Jesus to make you whole and pray for guidance. When exhaustion sets in and you are weary from cleaning, making meals, and doing mountains of laundry while endlessly serving your family, He is ready to make things easier. Realign yourself with the truth. He is ever-present. Surrender and ask Him to give you strength and to teach you how to serve lovingly. While you are making pancakes for breakfast, ask Jesus to bless them and make them delicious, to feed your children’s hearts as well as their bodies. Practically bring Him into all you are doing, and let the awareness of His Presence work miracles in your difficult everyday affairs!

God is always present, and He understands all of your emotions. He wants to help, and therefore, we can ask for the impossible. He looks into our eyes with compassion because He knows everything. When we face financial debt, discouragement, and despair, or are in the middle of a crisis, He delivers us! Sister, God’s faithful Presence helps us walk through difficult times. Miracles happen when we are aware that He is near and is willing to help. We can trust Him, step-by-step. He provides a way to reach the other side miraculously!

Blessings and Love,

Mari Jo

Questions to Ponder

  • Do I believe God is always with me and that I am never alone?
  • What does God’s omnipresence mean? How does that affect me personally?
  • Do I fully understand that God cares about the daily affairs of my life and wants to be a part of them?
  • How can I be more aware and remind myself of God’s presence every day?

Faith-Filled Ideas

I believe thankfulness is a vital key to becoming more aware of God’s presence in our lives. When we are grateful, our minds shift heavenward to God. Think of all the blessings in your life and write them down. Make it a practice to remember the good things with which God has blessed you and continually give Him praise!
