I’ll Raise a Hallelujah

On the Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashanah last September, we entered into the Hebrew year 5780. (The Jewish calendar runs from September-September.) What is interesting about Hebrew numbers, is that they are also words. The number 80 is represented by the Hebrew letter, “Pey” (sounds like “pay”).  Pey translates to “mouth” or “expression” or “the breath of God”.

This means that this year has been ordained as the year of the mouth; a time for God’s people to speak, shout, even sing what the Lord is revealing in their lives and in the world through declarations of faith.

In Psalm 81:10, the Lord says, “Open wide your mouth and I will fill it.”

What better way to express what God is revealing to us than by opening up your mouths in praise and in worship?

The mouth is an expression of the breath, for through our mouths the breath is vocalized. Our mouth can become a powerful expression of the Breath of the Holy Spirit as we declare his glory through song.

I believe the Lord wants to do something new as we approach our 15X15 Worship Challenge. God doesn’t just want us to listen to the music, God is calling us to open up our mouths and sing these songs of worship.

Sing with a voice of triumph!

Sing to bring healing to broken hearts.

Sing to usher peace into places of division.

Sing to break the bondage of sickness, injury, and disease.

Sing to loose the chains of addiction.

Sing! Sing! Sing!

Psalm 40:3 declares, “He has put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him.”. Many will SEE our praise and trust the Lord. Our mouth are a reflection of our hearts. Therefore, our mouths can bring life to those around us.

But be aware that your enemy, the devil, knows this as well and he is sending out all the powers of hell to stop it. Where do we find ourselves during this year of the mouth? We find ourselves wearing masks. We see churches that are closed. We see churches that forbid singing and worshipping. The devil is trying to silence our praise.

I urge you to take this opportunity during our Worship Challenge to take back what the enemy is trying to steal from us. Praise and worship is the gateway which allows us to enter into the sacredness of God’s power and his glory.

This is the year of the mouth! Let’s use it to move into God’s presence and to declare all that he is.

Sing a new song! Raise a Hallelujah!

Rejoicing in God’s presence,

Susie and the Help Club for Moms Team
