Mom Tips: Worship Week One

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit…” John 15:5

The Wise Woman Builds Her Spirit!

  • Start each day with a grateful heart. Write down in your journal five things for which you feel grateful everyday this week. Write Psalm 119:105 on an index card and keep it in a place where you can see it easily. Try to memorize the verse by the end of the week.
  • Make a “quiet time basket.” Get a simple basket and stock it with your Bible, journal, a pen, candle with matches, and notecards (for writing a friend an encouraging note). If you have small children in the home, keep your supplies safe by storing the basket where little hands can’t reach.

The Wise Woman Loves Her Husband!

  • Praise God for your husband this week! Think of all the ways God made him special and unique (and be sure to share those things with your husband too).
  • Pray that God will open up doors for opportunities for you and your husband to worship and serve God together. A married couple serving the Lord together is powerful!

The Wise Woman Loves Her Children!

  • Instead of one person praying before your meals this week, involve the entire family. Take turns thanking God for your day in a “popcorn” style prayer. This helps your children make the habit of talking to God about what brings them joy.
  • Sing songs to your children or with your children before bedtime. These last words will soothe them before going to sleep. Wee Sing has many old favorites in hymnals just for little eyes to read and sing.

The Wise Woman Cares For Her Home!

  • Set a timer for 5 to 15 minutes and declutter that problem area you avoid looking at. Throw away the trash, put away the things that don’t belong, and give away what you aren’t using anymore. Make a goal to declutter the problem areas in your home two or three times a week.
  • Fill your sink with soapy water and hand wash dishes with your kids. Be sure to make extra bubbles and have an extra good time!
