Mom to Mom with Deb

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:1

Precious Mama,

This week, we officially begin the Lenten season! It’s the beautiful time of year when we intentionally carve out a few extra moments to ponder the life, death, and resurrection of our amazing Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! We are so excited here at the Help Club for Moms to begin our journey together, “Walking with John,” and learning more about the life of Jesus and His great love for us as we go.

For the next seven weeks, we invite you to join your Help Club sisters around the world as we read the 21 chapters of John together and soak in the wide, long, high, and deep love of Jesus Christ. The love of Jesus is so great that we even have to pray to understand it!

During the “Walking with John” study, we encourage all of our moms to not only read the three Bible study devotions each week but also to carve out a few moments to watch the correlating chapter in the movie Life of Jesus: Gospel of John by the Jesus Film Project. This amazing dramatization of the book of John is separated into chapters for easy viewing. Since the movie is word-for-word Scripture, it provides an even clearer picture and understanding of how Jesus lived and loved.

The movie is available for free through the YouVersion Bible App under videos. You can buy the movie on Amazon or watch it for free with an Amazon Prime membership. On YouTube, you can find it separated out into 21 videos. Look for The Gospel of John Chapter by Chapter. This movie is a great investment in the spiritual life of your family. I have purchased at least five copies! Be sure to watch the videos with all of your children who are elementary-age and older. They need to ponder Jesus during Lent too!

We are so excited to hear how this season encourages you in your walk with Jesus! We are praying for you!

Love,
Deb Weakly and the Help Club For Moms Team

“The plainest reason why the Son of God is called the Word seems to be, that as our words explain our minds to others, so was the Son of God sent in order to reveal his Father’s mind to the world.” Matthew Henry
