Mom to Mom with Mari Jo

“The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”

2 Corinthians 10:4-5

Dear Sister,

If you’re fighting a personal battle right now, Jesus wants to bring heaven’s peace into your situation and calm your raging emotions. Oh, friend, you don’t have to wait until the battle is over to find peace. All can be well with your soul right now.

Maybe you think after the trial, after the storm is over, the possibility of peace becomes available. But no, Jesus actually delivers peace in the present (in the middle of the mess) if we can believe it. He is I AM.

Jesus said in John 16:33, “These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”

Every battle we encounter is not between God and Satan anymore (the enemy was defeated when Jesus rose from the grave), but is an attack against the truth of God’s Word, against us—a battering ram in our mind against the knowledge that Jesus was already victorious for us. It’s so important we know and stand with Him on this truth because Satan wants us to believe the battle we face hasn’t been won.

We overcome the lies, in the heat of the battle, and usher in peace when we keep our hearts and minds focused on Christ’s finished work. Jesus is LORD; He is Lord above our struggle, over every stinking battle we encounter! The enemy is under the feet of Jesus and we are seated with Him in heavenly places.

“For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 2:6 NLT).

Worshipping Jesus in truth brings our thoughts, emotions, and feelings under submission, into God’s greater reality—IT IS FINISHED! This brings true peace.

I’m praying for you to feel calm and declare victory no matter how intense your battle is right now. Begin by agreeing with Jesus. He already overcame and He loves you! Worship Him! He is the Prince of Peace who is always available to minister in a tangible way. Ask for the Holy Spirit’s help. He brings strength to sing songs of praise in the darkest night.

With love,
