“My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord; In the morning I will direct it to You, and I will look up.” Psalm 5:3

Dear Mama,

How does your garden grow? I love this “Come to the Garden” theme for Lent. Coming before the Lord in Bible reading, prayer, and journaling 15 minutes a day for five days is a sure way to cultivate our relationships with Jesus! How did your first week go? Did you use the journal pages to reflect what the Scripture spoke to your heart? Here at the Help Club for Moms, we hope you get the most out of the time you set aside to listen to God and to hear His still, small voice. This invitation to the garden is meant to slow us busy mamas down so we can reflect on the true meaning of Easter: redemption of sin through Christ’s death on the cross, His glorious resurrection, and ascension to sit at the right hand of the Father. Victory!

Often believers will give up a pleasure during Lent to identify with Jesus and His suffering. We encourage you to sacrifice some of your time each morning to do the 15/5 Challenge with a renewed passion to be in the Lord’s presence. I promise He will meet you! Allow the Holy Spirit to till the soil of your heart and prune/correct areas in your life that need alignment with God’s Word over the next five weeks. New growth is what spring is all about! If you enjoy the scent of flowers, light a floral candle while you have your devotions each morning, and it will enhance your time in the garden.

With love,
Rae-Ellen Sanders and the Help Club for Moms Team

“The sacred moments, the moments of miracle, are often the everyday moments, the moments which, if we do not look with more than our eyes or listen with more than our ears reveal only… a gardener, a stranger coming down the road behind us, a meal like any other meal. But if we look with our hearts, if we listen with all our being and imagination…What we may see is Jesus himself.” Frederick Buechner
