Mom to Mom with Mari Jo: Prayer Week Seven

“I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called— his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance.” Ephesians 1:18 (NLT)

Hello Mom!

A few years ago, a dear friend approached me with the idea of getting together to pray weekly for each other, our families, our husbands, and those around us. Both of us were right in the middle of raising our larger than average families, sometimes fumbling through life and desperately wanting to come out on the other end at least halfway sane. We wanted to see our kids pursue Truth, to know God and to love Him with all of their hearts!

We desperately needed this, and so our partnership in prayer began with a few other passionate moms who joined. We wept as we confessed and shared personal failures, we willingly became transparent, we witnessed miracles and grew in unity until we became inseparable. Most of all we fervently prayed! We were holy mamas, crying out for more of Jesus in our lives, laying hands on each other, and praying promises in God’s Word in faith, out loud.

We witnessed so many miracles come out of this team of praying moms. It takes commitment and vulnerability, but I honestly don’t know where I would be today without the prayers of my friends. We become ONE with Jesus and each other when we pray together according to the will and Word of God! To this day, I’m so thankful my friend approached me to pray together!

This leads me to ask you: Do you have a praying friend? If not, ask God for someone you trust, to share your deepest worries and concerns with and then help you commit them to God! As I write, I’m praying for you to find someone who believes and prays faith-filled prayers of the Word that lead to higher, more stable ground until you experience victory! Be willing to step out! Be friendly and ask if she would like to do “real” life with you. I know how scary it is to be vulnerable, but I promise the return releases and brings you freedom from fears! Your life will never be the same! I dare bet there’s a mom out there who’s looking for you at this very moment.

God loves you so, so much! He already knows what you need before you ask! Bring your need to Him in prayer and completely trust Him.

Love,
