Savor the Season

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”~‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭9‬:‭6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Christmas is my favorite time of the year! I love attending all the fun festivities and special gatherings, getting in as much as possible because it only happens once a year, right?! Sweet sister, I have something to confess to you… this year I just want to rest!

Absolutely none of the holiday outings and activities are bad, but I feel like I’ve been in such a busy season since school started that I’m just tired of the hustle. I march through our house singing, “all I want for Christmas is two naps a day! Two naps a day!” Maybe you are exhausted too? This year I’ve decided to pick a few special outings and activities and give my family space to breathe and reflect on the majesty of our new born King together! I am even keeping our gifting simple, but I’m not yet at Three Wise Man status of just three gifts!

Guess what, mama!? If you feel the same way I do, it’s ok! Give yourself permission to say “no” this season so you can say “yes” to other things the Lord may be stirring in your heart! What’s the one thing you feel Him calling you to this season that perhaps you never had time for before?

One thing I’ve always wanted to do was read a family advent together! I have the best intentions every year but get too caught up trying to make all the things happen and forget! This Christmas, I want time to sit and reflect on our “Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” My heartfelt hope and prayer is that we will experience the magic of Christmas without forgetting the majesty of our newborn King!

🙏  Pray with me-

Father God, bless my sweet friend to REST in You this Christmas so she can experience the gift of Your son -the Prince of Peace- this season! Give her the courage to say “no” to the busyness and to savor & reflect more than she ever has in the past.

Merry Christmas to you and your family this season!
