Dear Mama,
I am eternally grateful for the saving power of Jesus, I have called upon His name too many times to count, yet He never seems to tire or suggest shame at my need for Him. I only feel adoration, compassion, and affection oozing from His heart. Here in this place, my heart feels deeply loved, and I become changed.
My friend, Jesus cherishes when we come to Him no matter what afflicts us, torments us, or how often we call on His name. He passionately desires that we come as we are. He graciously holds His arms ready to embrace, to set us free from our fears forever. Jesus never pushes or turns us away no matter how undeserving we are. When we understand who He is and always will be (He changes not), this knowledge becomes our greatest strength in life and we are inspired to love as He loves.
Jesus doesn’t leave us the way we are when we come to Him: He transforms us into someone completely new! He washes away the dirt and makes us spotless and shiny. He trades our ugly for lovely. He takes away our deadly sin and clothes us with beautiful robes of righteousness. Oh friend (as if this isn’t enough), this transformation in us never stops but continues on into eternity. He never pauses His love for us.
Whether we were saved years ago or only recently, Jesus continues to save and deliver us day by day—His salvation becomes our daily saving grace. Salvation never feels old or worn out, but fresh and new as He sets us free yet once again. Relish His free gift today, no matter how vehement a cry or quiet a whisper, when you call for help, Jesus is there. How beautiful.
