“You are altogether beautiful, my love; there is no flaw in you.” Song of Solomon 4:7

Dear Mama,

You are beautiful. You are flawless. You are loved. You. Created and loved by the perfect God who is capable of lovingly creating nothing but perfection. “You are altogether beautiful, my love; there is no flaw in you” (Song of Solomon 4:7). “And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good” (Genesis 1:31a ESV). Such magnificent truth!

Unfortunately, this truth can be difficult to believe when we are standing in front of the full-length mirror and feel dissatisfied with the reflection, or when we consider other women around us who are either younger, thinner, curvier, taller, smaller…the list of comparisons could be endless. These judgments can cause each of us to doubt our loveliness and therefore doubt our worth.

Friend, that is the Enemy! Plain and simple. When these doubts creep into your mind and heart, replace them with truth: I am beautiful. I am flawless. I am loved and lovingly fashioned by the God who sees me as perfect in every way.

Love,
