“Then He told them, ‘This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. ‘”
Our verse today is an affirmation of a few things; that the Scriptures are true, that Christ must suffer, that He must rise on the third day, that all should know that their sins can be forgiven, and that we (his followers and believers!) are to bear witness of these things! This is our message, friends! It is simple yet profound. Powerful yet humble. After Jesus died for us on the cross, He asked us to go preach his name and make disciples of all nations!
As you ponder this verse today, pray about how Jesus would make this come alive in your heart and how you can apply this to your life! Ask boldly and respond when he tugs on your heart. Our faithfulness to his promptings is what makes our faith grow.
