15/5 Challenge Day 19

“But Jesus said, ‘Let her alone; she has kept this for the day of My burial. For the poor you have with you always, but Me you do not have always.’” JOHN 12:7-8 (NKJV)

Without going into great detail, you should know that the perfume this verse is talking about was very expensive! This woman wanted to give Jesus her very best. Some scoffers thought the woman wasn’t being frugal and should have helped the poor instead of lavishing love on Jesus with the expensive perfume. They thought that helping the poor was a bigger and better act of service to display to Jesus. But that wasn’t the case! Jesus looked at her gift for what it was; she was giving Him all she had. He was worth that and more to her, and that is what she wanted to show her God! This Scripture is absolutely beautiful. It begs the question though…What is your best for Jesus?
