Mothering Monday with Deb: Mom Tips for a Heavenly Home

“He settles the childless woman in her home as a happy mother of children. Praise the Lord.” Psalm 113:9

Hey, beautiful mamas! Have you ever felt like no matter how hard you try, the peace you’re longing for in your home feels just out of reach? Like the laundry piles up faster than your energy, or you and your husband barely have time to connect in the busyness of life? I’ve been there too, and I want to invite you into a special time where we can chat about some simple, yet powerful ways to bring more of God’s peace, joy, and love into our homes.

This week on Mothering with Deb, we’re going to talk about how we can intentionally create a home that reflects the heart of Jesus—even in the midst of the daily mess. I’ll be sharing real-life tips and stories that will encourage you to love your family well, even when life gets crazy. Whether it’s finding small ways to keep your spirit filled, reconnecting with your husband after a long day, or building fun, faith-filled moments with your kids, we’ll explore it all!

And here’s the best part: you don’t have to have it all together (none of us do)! We’re in this motherhood journey together, and I believe God meets us exactly where we are, offering His strength for our weakness. Let’s lean into His grace and see what He can do when we invite Him into the ordinary moments of our day.

Below are some of the Scriptures and prayers we prayed. We have prayed these prayers many times over the years when our children have woken up with bad dreams or when they can’t go to sleep because they are having scary thoughts. We taught our little ones to say, “In Jesus’ Name, go away!” to their bad dreams, and bad thoughts, according to James 4:7.

Co-founder at Help Club for Moms

My name is Deb Weakly and I helped create the Help Club for Moms with one goal in mind: to create a community in which moms help moms to know the love of Christ. My own childhood was difficult and filled with sadness. I didn’t grow up in a Christian home, so when I became a Christian (and soon after, a mom), I had no idea what I was doing; I didn’t know what it meant to raise Christ-centered kids, but I so desperately wanted to learn.

I remember going into my daughter's room night after night and kneeling beside her bed and crying my heart out to God because I didn’t know how to be a Christian mom; I felt like I had no idea what I was doing. You know what? God is so faithful! He answered me and simply said, “Spend time with me, Deb.” And so I did. I began arising 15-30 minutes earlier each day so I could read my Bible and pray, and plan out my day with my family.

If there was one thing I would love to share with you is that God is personal and loves you as you are. You don’t have to be perfect to be loved by our amazing God! Come as you are! His loving presence can be practically known and experienced. He is not a God who is far away, He is near and easily found. He longs for you to come to Him!

Randy and I have been married for 33 years and we have two grown children, Christie, and Jack, and one answer to prayer son-in-law named Alex. And now I get to be a Gigi to my sweet little grandbabies, Aspen and Skylar, and Piper. Yay!
