Mom Tip Saturday: Joyful Preparations

Hey Mamas!

Each week, we share a Mom Tip to help you run your household with more efficiency, grace, and love!

Save yourself the last-minute panic and prepare extra holiday food in advance to be frozen until you need it for the season!

We can all relate to the timeless Bible verses about Jesus’ friends, Mary and Martha (Luke 10:38-42). When it comes to hosting gatherings at your home, or even visiting elsewhere, it can be easy to become like our dear friend Martha. She was hoping to have everything perfect for Jesus and her guests, but Jesus had other plans for her. He wanted her to know that she didn’t need to be perfect for Him. She needed to open her eyes and see that He was the Perfect she needed! This is why food preparation can be such a huge help in times of stress and chaos. The point is not to be stressed to the max trying to be perfect in the eyes of others- the purpose is to shine light on the Perfect at all times.
So, whether you are hosting guests in your home or taking a dish (or two!) to a gathering elsewhere- prepping the meal beforehand will save you time and help you stay grounded in the task at hand- spreading the Gospel! Homemade bread, cinnamon rolls, and casseroles all freeze well. All you will need to do is take them out of the freezer and thaw them in the refrigerator the night before you need them. Happy Holidays!
“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:41-42
We pray you rejoice in God’s love this season!
