Mom To Mom with Kacy Your Purpose is Not in Your Perfection Week One

“We love because He first loved us.” 1 John 4:19

Dear Mama,

While you were still growing in your mother’s womb, you were fully loved by God. You didn’t have to do a thing to earn that love! Sometimes I forget that important truth and look for my worth based on my performance as a parent, wife, or employee. I have quickly realized that if I allow my interactions with my teenager or toddler to determine my value, I am set up to fail!

Motherhood is not for the faint of heart. You can easily grow weary and lose sight of the joy before you if you are relying on your own strength or trying to earn your love from the outside world—even when that outside world is your family.

No matter how much I love my family and they love me, we are all still humans. We fall short of the glory of God every day and certainly don’t possess the ability to love each other perfectly. Sweet, loved mama—you are not on this earth because of what you can do for others. You are here because of what Jesus did for you. You are loved by the God of the universe, and your greatest purpose on earth is to love Him back! No matter what the world (or even your family) says, your purpose in life is not to be a good enough wife or mom. It is impossible to be those things without the love of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit in your life.

When you love Jesus and make Him Lord of your life, you can do all things—even endless laundry and sleepless nights.

With Love,
