Mom to Mom with Rachel Easter Week Two

“Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations.” Deuteronomy 7:9 (ESV)

Dearest Mama,

One of my very favorite things about God is that He is faithful. Whenever He makes a promise, He keeps it. We see this theme over and over again throughout the Bible and each story is just as amazing as the last. Do you remember the story of Daniel in the lion’s den? God was faithful to Daniel when He closed the lions’ mouths. What about the time when God kept baby Moses safe as he floated down the Nile River in a basket?

I know there are so many more biblical examples, but what is just as powerful as recalling God’s faithfulness throughout the Bible is when we recall God’s faithfulness in our own lives. I like to record in my journal the times when I felt the Lord’s direction, guidance, and gentle nudge regarding something I was praying for. Remembering those times in my life is helpful, especially when His voice fades and doubt regarding His faithfulness starts to take center stage.

God was faithful then and He is faithful now. As wise women, we must take comfort in His faithfulness. The way God works is mysterious and can be frustrating at times, but it is also lovely and timely. Being a mom to young children at home is an interesting thing—the days drag on and sometimes we feel like our children will never learn to share, clean-up, or go to sleep when told.

Each day, it is essential for us mamas to point our children to Jesus Christ and allow them to see His power, tenderness, and constant affections for us. Every morning that we rise alive and healthy represents God’s faithfulness and kindness for us.

“The Lord’s loving kindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:22-23 NASB).

Friends! God has not forgotten you! He is watching you, loving you, and rooting for you always.

Keep Him close to your heart and be obedient. He is faithful!

Love in Him,
