Mom to Mom with Rae-Ellen

“When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child.” Luke 2:17

Hi Mama,

I hope you’ve had a blessed Thanksgiving filled with much gratitude. We have four weeks of encouraging studies ahead to help prepare our hearts for a joyful Christmas season. Here at the Help Club for Moms, our goal as God-honoring wives and mothers is to be intentional in our attitudes, actions, and words; its importance cannot be overstated. So let’s be mindful of making choices that will inspire worship and celebration in our homes this Christmas season.

Representing and following Jesus in a broken world takes every ounce of our attention and planning, especially during Christmas time. Consumerism wants to flash and parade toys and Santa Claus at every turn. As Christian moms, we want to fervently plant seeds of faith into our little ones’ hearts, so they will understand that Christmas is so much more than presents and twinkle lights.

We can all enjoy the excitement of Christmas traditions while putting Christ in the center of Christmas! One way to incorporate Christ is through worship. In the midst of decorating, baking, and wrapping presents, we can tune our hearts to the words of faith-filled Christmas hymns. Print the words to your favorite hymns, meditate on them and sing them with your family. I particularly love the idea of 30 Christmas Acts of Giving. Children experience the joy of giving and doing something nice for someone else every day of the month. I hope to implement it this year. I want my children to learn to love others well. Romans 12:9-10 (NLT) teaches us, “Don’t pretend to love others. I really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other.”

As we continue to meditate on the beauty of Jesus’ birth, let’s be intentional about seeking Him this Christmas!

Love & Blessings,
Rae-Ellen Sanders and the Help Club for Moms Team
