“…And hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” Romans 5:5 (NASB)

Hello Mamas!

Christmastime is here, and I’m so excited! As I kick off the countdown to Christmas Day, my family is busily, beautifully decorating our home, attending holiday parties, and selecting the perfect gifts for loved ones.

Amidst all the fun and clatter of the holidays, the wise woman knows that she has a wonderful opportunity to savor the true meaningfulness of Christmas with her family during the month of December.

In our family, celebrating Advent is one of the best ways to celebrate Jesus at Christmas. Usually during the first week of the month, we put out our small wreath with purple, pink, and white candles in it. The candles symbolize hope, peace, joy, love, and Christ. We light a candle each week, so that by Christmas, all five candles are burning.

Hope is our focus this first week of Advent! And like the candle, our hearts burn bright with a hope for Jesus to come back and take away all the hurt, sickness, and sadness of this world. Our hope is magnified when we fix our eyes on heaven and the perfect life we will live with
Him someday. Our hearts are encouraged because we’re meditating on the true meaning of Christmas—Jesus.

My children love Advent, and it’s easy to do! Simply buy the five candles and a wreath or some garland at Hobby Lobby. Next, look online for a kid-friendly, nightly Scripture reading. Every evening in December, you and your family can make unforgettable, meaningful Christmas
memories together.

From my family to yours, a very Merry Christmas!

Love,
Kristi Valentine with the Help Club for Moms Team
