Dearest Daughter Day Two: Motherhood is Holy

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9

Dearest Daughter,

What you do every day in your home with your family is holy work. Wiping noses, changing diapers, and breaking up sibling fusses may not feel very holy, but it is to God. He cares deeply about you and your family, and He loves it when you follow Him by faith, asking for wisdom and help for your mothering.

By staying faithful and loving your family well in the power of the Holy Spirit, you are sending a message of love and faith forward to a time you will not see. You are raising the next generation of Christians who will raise the next generation of Christians- believe me this is eternal work! The God in heaven who sees all the ways you sacrifice for your family will someday say to you: “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

Keep going dear one. God is with you and is so pleased with you!

Pray with me…

Heavenly Father, sometimes I get so tired and overwhelmed with all of the responsibilities and work that each day brings. Give me the energy and strength I need to just do the next thing in my home. Help me not to look too far ahead into the future. Instead, help me to live each day with Your help and Your joy. Help me to feel grateful that I get to be a mom and care for these little ones (and big ones) in my home. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

I love you, my sweet daughter. I’m praying for you today.

Love,

Mama Deb (your second mama)

Deb Weakly
