Let the Light of Jesus Shine in Your Darkness

“It’s impossible to disappear from you or to ask the darkness to hide me, for your presence is everywhere, bringing light into my night. There is no such thing as darkness with you. The night, to you, is as bright as the day’ there is no difference between the two.” Psalm 139:11-12 (TPT)

Perhaps you feel like you are in a dark place today.

Maybe you feel like loneliness, anguish, fear, anxiety, or hopelessness has muddied up your heart. You worry that nothing can grow in this darkness.

I have been feeling the same way, and I have to admit that I often focus more on the world than on the Word. The Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. When I focus on the Word, tiny shards of light begin to illuminate those dark places. The same sun that brings beauty from seeds buried deep in the soil’s obscurity can bring forth beauty out of your dark situation.

Mamas, when God is allowed to gently expose your dark places to his light, pain, heartache, and broken dreams are transformed. God’s light reveals his plans to take care of you, never abandon you, and give you the future you hope for. As you struggle to see through the dark, you will notice that God’s promises have been there; darkness and despair were hiding them.

The promises God whispers in the daylight don’t disappear when the sun sets. You realize that you are still in the midst of a life filled with pain, sickness, and disappointment, but there is One greater than all. My friends, God will not leave you to handle these difficulties independently. He will never leave you in a dark place. Jesus will crawl into the darkness with you, tell you that you are not alone and hold you until hope begins to stir and something new blossoms from deep within.

Find the light today!

Blessings as you find the light in your darkness,
