Mom Tip Saturday: Forgiveness

Hey Mamas!

Each week, we share a Mom Tip to help you run your household with more efficiency, grace, and love!

“Write a sincere note to the person you need to forgive. Spend time in prayer for them as you are writing. Pray over the letter for a week. You will feel the process of forgiveness begin in your heart. “

Forgiveness- its easy to talk about, but the practice of forgiving can be hard, seemingly unattainable, and sometimes unwanted. There are plenty of scripture we can point others to in their time of needing to forgive or to be forgiven. But for ourselves, putting this into practice can mean a huge step of faith! Thankfully, we serve such a wonderful God that knows all about forgiveness and its importance in our lives.

We all may have a friend or family member in which we seek true forgiveness and we may not know where to start. Your heart is the first and best place to begin this work! God is still in the miracle business, and faithfully praying over the situation and asking God to change your heart towards this person is the first step you can take. Writing this apology out on paper can be a great reminder to your heart. Eventually, with Jesus working in you, you will be able to fully forgive- and hopefully send the letter!

“For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.” Matthew 6:14 (NIV)
