Mom to Mom with Deb

Dear Mama,

How’s your Christmas season going? Do you feel the stress and pressure starting to build as you are getting closer to Christmas with a list a mile long and not enough time in the day?

While out shopping, I noticed most everyone running here and there, obviously behind on their Christmas lists, with hardly a smile or a kind word to spare. I found myself wondering why it always has to be so stressful at this time of year?

Christmas can be a delightful time in our lives, but it can also be an overwhelming and not so enjoyable season. Right about now it can feel like everything is falling on your shoulders so much to do and way too much stress to add to an already overcrowded life.

Even in the midst of our busyness, do you hear the still small voice of Jesus calling you to come away with Him? He still says the beautiful words he spoke over 2000 years ago,

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. (Matthew 11:29-30)

This Christmas season, make every effort to listen for the call of Jesus, every day, one day at a time, one hour at a time, one moment at a time. Spend time with Him each day in prayer and reading your Help Club devotionals. Ask Him to give you the wisdom and strength you need to finish all of the many things you have left to do before Christmas and be sure to ask Him for good sleep.

We are praying for you to have a great week and feel the presence of Jesus each day.

With love,
Deb and the Help Club For Moms Team
