“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you” Luke 11:9

Dear Sister,

It is our heart at the Help Club for Moms that, as you grow into the wise woman God created you to be, you learn that prayer changes everything. I pray that our devotionals are challenging you to spend more time with the Lord in prayer.

Even though I grew up in the church, it wasn’t until recently that I understood the necessity of God’s purpose for prayer in our lives. I prayed before meals, and before I fell asleep at night, but when I heard others talk about the power of prayer, I knew I was missing out on something. There were areas in my life with which I was dissatisfied, and I knew I should pray for a breakthrough, but I didn’t know where to start.

During the summer of 2014, I read a book about prayer—The Circle Maker by Mark Batterson. I determined to put into practice what I read and allow the truth to change my life. There is no secret formula for prayer. Prayer is less about having the right words to say and more about believing in the all-powerful God who wants to work on our behalf! I needed to believe God was more than able to answer my prayers. God’s answer is not always yes. Sometimes it is no or not yet, but we, as His children, must continue to believe He has great plans for our lives. And He will be with us when we walk through the waters and when we pass through the fire (Isaiah 43:2).

I want to encourage you to take your requests to God, especially those areas in which you have given up hope or don’t believe things can change. One of Mark Batterson’s prayer maxims is, “The greatest tragedy in life is the prayer that goes unanswered because it goes unasked.” Jesus said, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you” (Luke 11:9). I encourage you to ask, seek, knock, believe, and trust. The God who promised is faithful (Hebrews 10:23).

With Love,

  1. I am praying for you, Anna! Lifting up all your requests! God is able to do immeasurably more than you can ask or imagine!

  2. Please pray for me, I’m going through a lot of emotional issues like jealousy, offence, comparison, bitterness, trust issues and complaining in my marriage which can be bad for our relationship with my husband. All this emotions also brought me farther away from God, I can’t really pray or worship from my heart. I know Jesus wants to set me free and heal me, I just need to trust him and give everything to him.
May God strengthen our marriage and help my husband to control his feelings and that he will not continue a friendship with a female Co worker.
