Run to the Safety of Your Hiding Place

“You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.” Psalm 32:7.

When my daughters were little, they loved to play hide and seek. They always did the hiding and I always had to find them.

My youngest daughter always hid in the same place. I would pretend it was hard to find her, but I always knew where she was.

One day, I asked her why she always went to the same place. She told me with her wide blue eyes and her beautiful smile, that it was her favorite hiding place.

I told her that if she hid in the same place every time, I would always be able to find her, “Mommy, I don’t want you to be scared that I am lost. I want you to know how to find me.”

In our verse today from Psalm 32, David exclaims that the Lord is his hiding place. He always returns to the same, secret place because he knows that God will be there to meet with him.

My sweet sisters, I feel like there is a lot of heaviness in many of your hearts right now. I know how you feel, because I am feeling it too. Right now, I don’t feel like it is well with my soul.

I wonder how many of you are feeling the same.

Typically, this would put into warrior mode. But, for some reason, the Lord is telling me NOT to battle. Instead, he is urging me to accept the gift of his perfect peace and to stand on his Word.

If you are in a battle today, especially a battle in your mind, I encourage you to lay your weapons down and swim in the peace that God is offering to those who will stand firm on his promises.

Where can you find his peace mamas? Go to your hiding place.

The hiding place is where God sings his songs of deliverance over you. It is where you are protected, where you find safety from the enemy, and where you will find your breakthrough. Whenever you are afraid, you can trust in him; in the secret, in the quiet, in the stillness, the Lord is there.
