Seek Him and You Will Find Him

“Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.”John 15:5 (NLT).

In a week of uncertainty and sadness,  I have good news—Jesus loves you wildly and He wants to be with you; He longs to be your friend.

Close your eyes and imagine that for a moment. The all-knowing, all-powerful, mighty, everlasting, King of Kings, and Lord of Lords wants to be with you. This kind of love is so hard sometimes for me to fathom. I look at myself in the mirror and all I can see is sin and failure. I cannot imagine that Jesus would want me.

When Jesus walked upon the earth, He chose 12 disciples to walk with Him. He didn’t need them to fulfill the mission that He had been given by the Father. He didn’t need them to heal the sick, raise the dead, or cast out demons; but He wanted them.

Mamas, I believe that Jesus was not only teaching and equipping His disciples for the mission to which they were called, but He also wanted to show us that He desires a continuous association and intimate relationship with Him.

He wanted us to see, my dear sisters, that first and foremost, He wants us to abide in Him. Abiding requires us to stay so attached and connected to Him that it is difficult to see where He begins and we end. Here, in the abiding, Jesus can teach us, show us, mold us, and help us to produce such good, good fruit.

Before the disciples could have miraculous power, they had to know the source of Power.

Before they could heal the sick, they had to know the Great Physician.

Before they preached the message, they had to know the Message.

Before they could cast out the evil one, they had to know the Holy One.

Spend time with Jesus today. He just wants to be with you; He longs to call you friend. If you seek Him, you will find Him.

Blessings today as you find time to abide in the One who longs to abide with you.
