The Beloved Mom Day Eight: A Little Pondering About the Love of Jesus

I was spending time with Jesus recently, and He taught me something I wanted to share with you, dear ones.

Sometimes when I sit with the Lord, I get distracted by thoughts of things that need to get done, so I try to picture Jesus in my mind to help me focus.

I always want to see myself as close as possible to the Lord, but I usually have a hard time figuring out how I would hold Jesus if I were with Him in person.

I asked Jesus about how I should see Him in my mind and how I can be the closest to Him.

This is what I prayed…

“Jesus, I want to be so close to You. I want to use my imagination and see You with the eyes of my heart in a way that will help me to focus on Your amazing love for me.

Should I see myself sitting next to You, holding Your hand or putting my arm in Yours like I do my husband’s?

Should I sit on Your lap and let You hold me as a Father holds His child?

Should I see myself hugging You in a loving embrace like I will when I come home to heaven?

Should I see myself sitting next to You, putting my head on Your chest like the Disciple John?

It is so good to ponder Jesus’s loving embrace; it helps us feel His love in a tangible way.

I felt the Lord say something I wasn’t expecting that felt like an “exceedingly abundant” answer to my question…

“Deb, I have already given you the closest embrace I have to give-I am in you; the Father and I have made our home inside of you- there is no other way we can be closer. I stay there forever; I never leave. There is no other closer embrace or union.”

Oh, my goodness. I feel so blessed by these words. What a gift it is to be the home of Christ, His dwelling place on this earth. Each of us who calls on the Name of the Lord has Him with us more closely than any earthly embrace. Our heart is His home.

As moms, may we always feel the incredible love of Jesus Christ; He cares for us deeply.

“Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.” Ephesians 3:17 NLT

Dear one, your Savior, Jesus, is holding you every moment of every day; He loves you unconditionally. You are always loved, always safe, and always cared for. May you feel His love for you more than ever before.
