Mom Tip Saturday: Make the Cookies

Hey Mamas!

We know you will love this week’s Mom Tip! Each week, we share a Mom Tip to help you run your household with more efficiency, grace, and love!

This week’s Mom Tip comes from our devotional workbook, The Wise Woman Knows.

“Make cookies with your children this week. Let them measure and mix with you. Remember, it will be messy, so plan ahead and don’t stress. It will be fun! Make extras and take them to your neighbors or pastoral staff.”

I’ll admit it- being in the kitchen with kiddos can be so challenging! Ingredients (flour in particular) can be so hard to clean up once they are cut loose. The enemy can flood my memory with the stress of cleaning up a catastrophic kitchen. But, I also know my truth- that some of my most treasured memories with my own mother and my children have been in the throes of a messy, messy kitchen!

Not only are you teaching them the art of baking that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives, but you are also showing them how to surrender themselves to grace. As they grow and begin their own parenting journey, not only will they be grateful that they were able to spend that time with you, but they will then show the same surrender that they saw from you long ago. Plus, what child doesn’t like to stick their hand in a bowl full of sugar? Happy baking, Mama!

“Jesus said, ‘Let the little children some to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these,'” Matthew 19:14
