Prayers for a Mother’s Day: A Prayer for Your Husband

Dearest Mama, The most important prayer you could ever pray for your husband is for him to know the love of Jesus more deeply.

The Bible says that Christ’s love is so unfathomable that we even have to pray to understand it…

“I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God” Ephesians 3:16-19.

Once someone knows they are loved, they act differently. So often, the issues with our husbands in our marriages or parenting will fix themselves once our husbands know how much they are loved. A person with more awareness of the unconditional love of Jesus will be more patient and kind and give more grace. This is why your prayers are the most important thing you can do to foster change in your husband; God is the only one who can change a person; we cannot. Release control and simply pray for your husband. Then watch what God does in response to you trusting Him to work.

Pray this prayer…

“Lord, please bless my husband. Draw his heart to you. Let him know that you love him and You see him. Help him to Know Your love more deeply.”

  1. Thank you for today’s devotion. I’m not gonna lie, it was hard for me to pray this prayer bc my heart was full of rage and darkness towards my husband bc he did something infuriating. Eventually, after having an honest with God, I cried and had to surrender in God’s arms to take care of my family situation for me. Please pray for me.
